The Nurse Aide Training Program is designed to prepare students with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to provide high-quality care in healthcare settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and home health environments. This comprehensive program includes classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and supervised clinical experience to ensure competency in patient care.

Classrooms & Learning Spaces
Our classroom is spacious and features a comfortable seating area. Each table accommodates two students. Equipped with the latest technology, it includes a high-quality film projector for clear viewing, a dedicated work/computer station for study purposes, and a whiteboard with digital resources to enhance instruction.
Our fully equipped skills lab is designed to replicate a real patient care setting. It features hospital beds, high-quality patient mannequins, and medical supplies for hands-on training. The lab includes dedicated practice stations for vital sign monitoring, patient mobility assistance, and bedside care.

Students will learn fundamental nursing skills, including assisting with daily living activities, infection control, vital signs monitoring, communication techniques, and patient rights. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, ethical care giving, and adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations.
To be considered for admission into the Nurse Aide and Phlebotomy programs at Touch of Care Home Health and Training Services, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. CPR Certification – Must have a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification before clinical training.
2. Ability to Lift & Stand – Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
3. Hand-Eye Coordination & Dexterity – Must demonstrate proficiency in handling medical instruments.
4. Professionalism & Communication Skills – Must exhibit professional behavior and good communication skills.

Instructional Methods:
Instruction for this course will include live lectures, PowerPoint presentations, case studies, videos, clinical skills, instructor demonstration, return demonstration, interactive games, and role play.
Student to Instructor Ratio 10:1
After successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the Alabama state certified nurse aide exam.
